HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 16,248RESOLUTION NO. 16,248 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY SUPPORTING PROPOSITIONS 108 AND 111 WHICH WILL APPEAR ON THE JUNE 5, 1990 BALLOT WHEREAS, the League of California Cities Board of Directors voted to support, and has encouraged each City to take an official position in support of, Propositions 108 and 111 which will appear on the June 5, 1990 ballot; WHEREAS, the California Governor has expressed necessity to improve the California transportation system in order to cope up with the fast increasing traffic congestion on roads all over the State of California; WHEREAS, Propositions 108 and 111, if approved by the voters, will raise an additional $18.5 billion over the next ten years for highway construction, expansion of rapid transit services, upgrading rural road systems, and increasing the efficiency of the state transportation department; and WHEREAS, Propositions 108 and 111 are deemed beneficial to all California cities including National City; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of National city that we support Propositions 108 and 111.
