RESOLUTION NO. s 2 - 214 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY CALLING A PUBLIC HEARING TO DETERMINE WHETHER PUBLIC HEALTH, SAFETY, OR WELFARE REQUIRE THE FORMATION OF AN UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT ON DIVISION STREET FROM NATIONAL CITY BOULEVARD TO HIGHLAND AVENUE (DISTRICT 20) BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of National City as follows: WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 1414 establishes a procedure for the creation of underground utility districts and requires as the initial step in such procedure the holding of a public hearing to ascertain whether public health, safety, or welfare requires the removal of poles, overhead wires and associated overhead structures and the underground installation of wires and facilities for supplying electric, communication or similar or associated service in any such district; and WHEREAS, it has been recommended that such an underground utility district, hereinafter called the District, be formed on Division Street between National City Boulevard and Highland Avenue. The boundaries of said district, which is designated as District 20, are delineated on the attached Exhibit "A," which is hereby incorporated as part of this Resolution. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows: 1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held by the Council of the City of National City on JANUARY 1 2TH , 1993, after the hour of 7 ; 0 0 pM , in the Council Chambers of the Civic Center, 1243 National City Boulevard, National City, California, to ascertain whether the public health, safety or welfare requires the removal of poles, overhead wires and associated overhead structures and the underground installation of wires and facilities for supplying electric, communication, or similar associated service in the District hereinabove described. Continued on Page Two Resolution No. 92-214 Page 2 of 2 2. At such hearing all persons interested shall be given an opportunity to be heard. Said hearing may be continued from time to time as may be determined by the City Council. 3. The City Clerk shall notify all affected property owners as shown on the last equalized assessment roll and utilities concerned of the time and place of such hearing by mailing a copy of this Resolution to such property owners and utilities concerned at least ten (10) days prior to the date thereof. 4. The area proposed to be included in the District is shown on that certain Map entitled Proposed Underground Utilities District 20, which is on file in the office of the City Engineer of the City of National City.
