HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 92-142RESOLUTION NO. 92-142 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 92-125 CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE HOLDING OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 1992, AND AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 92-126 REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO CONSOLIDATE THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON NOVEMBER 3, 1992 WITH THE STATEWIDE GENERAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON THE SAME DATE, TO INCLUDE THE SUBMISSION TO THE VOTERS OF AN INITIATIVE ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING LICENSING AND REGULATION OF CARD CLUBS WITHIN THE CITY WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 92-125 adopted on June 23, 1992, there has been called and ordered to be held in the City of National City, California, on Tuesday, November 3, 1992, a General Municipal Election for the purpose of electing two members of the City Council, a City Clerk and a City Treasurer for the full term of office of four years each; and WHEREAS, there has qualified for the ballot an initiative ordinance entitled "A Measure Authorizing Licensing and Regulation of Card Clubs within the City of National City" which, pursuant to Section 4011 of the California Elections Code, the City Council shall submit to the voters without change at the next regular municipal election; and ordinance. WHEREAS, the City Council has not voted in favor of the adoption of said NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of National City as follows: Section 1. That the City Council, pursuant to Section 4011 of the California Elections Code, does order submitted to the voters at the General Municipal Election to be held on November 3, 1992, the following question: Shall an Ordinance which would allow the operation of the card club business in National City, in which any game permitted by law, including but not limited to draw -poker, low -ball poker and panguingue (pan) are played, be adopted? Continued on Page Two yes Resolution No. 9 2 -14 2 Page 2 of 2 Section 2. That the proposed ordinance to be sbmitted to the voters is attached as Exhibit "A." Section 3. That Resolution No. 92-125 is hereby amended to include this measure to be submitted to the qualified voters of the City at the General Municipal Election to be held November 3, 1992. Section 4. That Resolution No. 92-126 is hereby amended to request the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Diego to authorize the Registrar of Voters to include this measure in the provision of specified services relating to the conduct of the General Municipal Election of the City of National City.
