RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY
AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF POLICE TO ENTER
INTO MEMORANDUMS OF UNDERSTANDING WITH THE
SWEETWATER UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT AND
THE NATIONAL SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR JOINT FUNDING
OF THE J.O.G./SCHOOL LIAISON OFFICER PROGRAM
WHEREAS, on August 16, 1994, the City Council adopted Resolution No.
94-119, which authorized the Chief of Police to enter into memorandums of understand-
ing with the Sweetwater Union High School District and the National School District for
joint funding of the J.O.G./School Liaison Officer Program; and
WHEREAS, on September 30, 1994, the Office of Criminal Justice
Planning (OCJP) notified the Police Department that additional grant funding was
available for the program, so that the cost to the City and the participating school districts
will be reduced; and
WHEREAS, it is appropriate for the City to enter into new memorandums
of understanding with the school districts which will supersede the existing memorandums
of understanding, and which will reflect the increased OCJP grant funding and the
reduced costs to the City and the school districts.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of National City that the Chief of Police is hereby authorized to enter into Memorandums
of Understanding with the Sweetwater Union High School District and the National
School District for Joint Funding of the J.O.G./School Liaison Officer Program. Said
Memorandums of Understanding are on file in the Office of the City Clerk.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 94-119, and the
Memorandums of Understanding authorized by said Resolution, are hereby superseded.
PASSED and ADOPTED this llth day of October, 1994.
