HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 94-150RESOLUTION NO. 9 4-15 0 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE NATIONAL CITY MILE OF CARS SIGN PROGRAM. APPLICANT: NATIONAL CITY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION CASE FILE NO. AP-1994-2 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of National City, California, considered a request for approval of plans for the National City Mile of Cars Sign Program at the meeting held on October 18, 1994; and WHEREAS, at the meeting of October 18, 1994, the City Council of the City of National City considered the recommendation of the Planning Commission for approval of said plans; and WHEREAS, Municipal Code Section 10.48.010 prohibits the posting of signs on public property, except as provided by Section 10.48.030; and WHEREAS, Municipal Code Section 10.48.030 provides that the City Council, by resolution, after considering the recommendation of the Planning Commission, may grant permission to post such sign or signs as it may determine to be reasonable and proper; and WHEREAS, the request of the Community Development Commission is categorically exempt from environmental review pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (Class 11, small structures); and WHEREAS, at said meeting the City Council considered the staff report contained in Case File No. AP-1994-2 which is maintained by the City, and incorporated herein by reference; and WHEREAS, this action is taken pursuant to all applicable procedures required by State and City law; and WHEREAS, this action recited herein is found to be essential for the preservation of public health, safety and general welfare. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of National City, that the National City Mile of Cars Sign Program is hereby approved. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the plans for directional signs in the public right-of-way identified as Exhibit "A", Case File No. AP-1994-2 dated September 13, 1994, are hereby approved, subject to all conditions outlined in City Council Policy Guidelines and Design Criteria for Directional Signs in the Public Right -of -Way, with exceptions for size and colors.
