HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 94-177RESOLUTION NO. 9 4-17 7 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY ACCEPTING A GIFT OF FUNDS DEDICATED TO A PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING SAID PROJECT TO CONSTRUCT A FENCE FOR SWEETWATER HEIGHTS PARK WHEREAS, residents living adjacent to Sweetwater Heights Park have experienced litter problems originating from the Park, creating a nuisance; and WHEREAS, installation by the City of a high fence on the east side of the park would inure to the mutual benefit of the City, park users and residents alike; and WHEREAS, Pasquale, Gaspare and Santo Oliveri, ("the Oliveri Brothers"), who reside on property adjacent to the park, have donated a gift of $2500.00 to the City toward the half-share cost of construction of a new fence. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of National City as follows: 1. That the City accepts the gift of $2500.00 from the Oliveri Brothers to be deposited in account 001-441-000-572; 2. That said funds will be dedicated to the construction of a fence on the east side of Sweetwater Heights Park, located at Stockman and Cagle, National City; 3. That said funds will be augmented by City funds to complete remainder of fencing; 4. That the cost of the construction shall not exceed $3,300; 5. That if the cost is less than $3,300, a pro rata rebate will be refunded to the Oliveri Brothers; 6. That the fence will be 200 feet long, 12 feet high, and composed of chain link metal; Continued on Page Two Resolution No. 9 4-17 7 Page 2 of 2 7. That the fence will be installed on City property, itself become City property, and will be maintained by City employees; and 8. That if the fence is not completed within 120 days of the date of this Resolution, the gift of funds described herein will be refunded to the Oliveri Brothers, in the name of Pasquale Oliveri.
