HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 95-43RESOLUTION NO. 95-43 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY APPROVING AND RATIFYING A USED OIL OPPORTUNITY GRANT APPLICATION WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have enacted the California Oil Recycling Enhancement Act that provides funds to cities and counties for establishing and maintaining local used oil collection programs that encourage recycling or appropriate disposal of used oil; and WHEREAS, the California Integrated Waste Management Board has been delegated the responsibility for the administration of the program within the state, setting up necessary procedures governing application by cities and counties under the program; and WHEREAS, said procedures established by the California Integrated Waste Management Board require the applicant to certify by Resolution the approval of said application to the State; and WHEREAS, the applicant will enter into an agreement with the State of California for development of the project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of National City does hereby approve and ratify the submittal of the application to the California Integrated Waste Management Board for a "Regional" Used Oil Opportunity Grant jointly with the Cities of Chula Vista and Imperial Beach. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager of the City of National City is hereby authorized and empowered to execute in the name of the City of National City all necessary applications, contracts, agreements and amendments hereto for the purposes of securing grant funds and to implement and carry out the purposes specified in the grant application. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of National City is hereby designating the City of Chula Vista as applicant and administrator of the Grant.
