HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 95-99RESOLUTION NO. 95- 99 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY MAKING CERTAIN FINDINGS WITH RESPECT TO LOW- AND MODERATE -INCOME HOUSING IN CONNECTION WITH THE REDEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR THE REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AS AMENDED WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of National City (the "City Council") did duly pass and adopt Ordinance No. 91-2013 on June 18, 1991, and did thereby adopt and approve the Redevelopment Plan for the National City Redevelopment Project (the "Redevelopment Plan"); and, WHEREAS, the City Council did duly pass and adopt Ordinance No. 94-2086 on November 22, 1994 and did thereby revise certain time limitations set forth in the Redevelopment Plan in compliance with Section 33333.6 of the Community Redevelopment Law, California Health and Safety Code Sections 33000, et. seq. (the "Community Redevelopment Law"); and, WHEREAS, the Community Development Commission of the City of National City (the "CDC") has undertaken the required steps for the consideration of the adoption of a proposed amendment (the "Amendment") to the Redevelopment Plan; and, WHEREAS, a draft Redevelopment Plan for the National City Redevelopment Project as Amended (the "Amended Redevelopment Plan") has been prepared in accordance with the provisions of the Community Redevelopment Law; and, WHEREAS, the Amended Redevelopment Plan provides for the allocation of taxes from the National City Redevelopment Project (the "Project Area" or the "Project"); and, WHEREAS, Section 33334.2 of the Community Redevelopment Law requires that not less than twenty -percent (20%) of all taxes allocated to the CDC pursuant to Section 33670 of the Community Redevelopment Law be used for the purpose of increasing, improving,and preserving the community's supply of low- and moderate -income housing available at affordable housing costs; and, Page 1 of 2 1.C. CITY COUNCIL RESOLUTION NO. 95-99 WHEREAS, Section 33334.2(g) of the Community Redevelopment Law provides that such funds may be used outside the Project Area if a finding is made by resolution of the CDC and the City Council that such use will be of benefit to the Project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of National City, that the City Council hereby finds and determines that the use of taxes allocated from the Project Area for the purpose of increasing, improving, and preserving the community's supply of low- and moderate -income housing available at affordable housing costs outside the Project Area and within the City of National City will be of benefit to the Project.
