HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 96-70RESOLUTION NO. 9 6 - 7 0 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY AUTHORIZING THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY TO SELL ITS 60% INTEREST IN A RESIDENTIAL UNIT LOCATED AT 906 "A" AVENUE WHEREAS, the Community Development Commission of the City of National City (CDC), using Low -and -Moderate Income Housing Trust Funds, indirectly derived from tax increment financing, purchased a 60 % interest in 906 "A" Avenue, National City, for the purpose of rehabilitating a blighted, housing -code deficient structure, and selling such unit to a low-income family; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of National City provided public notice and held a public hearing on May 28, 1996 to consider the sale of its interest in 906 "A" Avenue to Carl T. McVeagh and Mary Ann McVeagh for a total sales price of $150,000, of which the CDC will receive 60%. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of National City that this Council finds the proposed sales transaction of subject property to be in accordance with State Redevelopment Law, and further finds as follows: 1. The sale of said unit will tend to eliminate a blighting influence on the neighborhood. 2. The sales price of $150,000 is not less than fair -market value for the highest and best use of the property. 3. The property will be sold in fee -simple ownership and the use will be a single-family, owner -occupied resident with covenants relating to maintenance and association dues. 4. The sale of said unit is consistent with the implementation plan adopted pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 33490. BE IT RESOLVED that the Community Development Commission of the City of National City is hereby authorized to sell subject property in accordance with authorized CDC procedures.
