ACCEPT THE DONATION OF TWO UNDERCOVER VEHICLES
FROM THE MILE OF CARS ASSOCIATION FOR THE USE OF
THE NARCOTIC TASK FORCE DETECTIVE AND THE
REGIONAL AUTO THEFT TASK FORCE DETECTIVE

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY
AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF POLICE TO ACCEPT THE
DONATION OF TWO UNDERCOVER VEHICLES FROM THE
MILE OF CARS ASSOCIATION FOR THE USE OF THE
NARCOTIC TASK FORCE DETECTIVE AND THE
REGIONAL AUTO THEFT TASK FORCE DETECTIVE
WHEREAS, during the 1996/1997 budget process, the Mayor and City
Council approved the addition of two police officers to be assigned to the Narcotic Task
Force and the Regional Auto Theft Force; and
WHEREAS, the Mile of Cars Association has offered to donate two vehicles
for Police Department use; and
WHEREAS, it is proposed that the vehicles be maintained by the City and
be permanently incorporated into the Police Department's detective car fleet, and that the
vehicles will be inspected and approved by the Department of Public Works and rotated
subject to the guidelines of the City's Vehicle C.I.P. Committee.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of National City that the Chief of Police is hereby authorized to accept the donation of
two undercover vehicles from the Mile of Cars Association for the use of the Narcotic
Task Force detective and the Regional Auto Theft Task Force detective.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 17th day of December, 1996.
