RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY
DECLARING VEROTEK THE MOST QUALIFIED
VENDOR AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH VEROTEK FOR THE
METROPOLITAN AREA COMPUTER NETWORK FOR NATIONAL CITY
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Agent issued an RFP for a city-wide computer
network to 18 vendors, and the Technology Committee interviewed the most responsive
vendors and their proposals, and determined that Verotek offered the best solution at the
most competitive price; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the National City Municipal
Code, professional consulting services are not subject to the bidding procedure, and the
City Council determines that due to special circumstances, it is in the City's best interest
to enter into the proposed agreement pursuant to the RFP process rather than through the
bidding procedure.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of National City hereby rejects all proposals except that herein mentioned, and
hereby awards the agreement for the Metropolitan Area Computer Network to:
VEROTEK
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of National
City that the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the City, an agreement
between Verotek and the City of National City to provide said network. Said Agreement
is on file in the Office of the City Clerk.
