HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 97-19RESOLUTION NO. 97-19 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY AUTHORIZING AN INCREASE IN A BID AWARD TO COLONIAL FORD FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE ADDITIONAL PICK-UP TRUCK WHEREAS, the Purchasing Agent of the City of National City did in open session at 3:00 p.m., on October 8, 1996, publicly open, examine and declare all sealed bids for one new, 1997 model, full sized, regular cab, long -bed pick-up truck with Rhinolining; and Council awarded said bid to Colonial Ford on October 15, 1996; and WHEREAS, a vehicle accident subsequently occurred, destroying a pick-up truck and thereby creating a need for its replacement; and replacement of said truck was authorized via Council Resolution #97-9, on January 21, 1997; and WHEREAS, no further purpose would be served by repeating the bidding process so soon for the same item, and pursuant to the authority conferred by the National City Municipal Code, the City Council determines that it is in the City's best interest to contract with Colonial Ford without additional bidding procedures, and WHEREAS, Colonial Ford is agreeable to an increase in the original order, from one truck to two trucks; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of National City agrees to waive an additional bidding process, and authorizes the increase in the original award to Colonial Ford. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of National City, California, that the Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the City, a Purchase Order between Colonial Ford and the City of National City to provide one additional pick-up truck.
