HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 97-63RESOLUTION NO. 97-63 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY WAIVING THE BIDDING PROCEDURE AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION GROUP FOR THE PURCHASE OF AN AUTOMATED FIELD REPORTING SYSTEM FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of National City has, pursuant to Resolution Nos. 96-147 and 97-29, approved funding for the purchase of an Automated Field Reporting system for the Police Department; and WHEREAS, the Police Department has recommended that the Automated Field Reporting system be purchased from Technology Integration Group without complying with the competitive bidding procedure set forth in the Municipal Code; and WHEREAS, Sections 2.60.220 of the Municipal Code authorizes dispensing with the bidding procedure when the City Council determines that it is in the City's best interest to do so. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of National City that the Council finds and determines that it is in the City's best interest to purchase an Automated Field Reporting system for the Police Department from Technology Integration Group without complying with the competitive bidding procedure for the following reasons: 1. The Automated Field Reporting (AFR) system is an integrated information system that must interface with the ARJIS and currently only one vendor, Technology Integration Group, is capable of providing such a system in a timely manner. 2. The AFR system is being offered at a competitive price, and no significant price advantages would be gained by competitive bidding. 3. The AFR system is being offered through Technology Integration Group with full maintenance and support. Resolution No. 97-63 Page Two BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor is authorized to execute an agreement with Technology Integration Group for the purchase of an Automated Field Reporting system for the Police Department.
