RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY APPROVING
THE TRANSFER OF PROJECT FUNDS AND CONTRACT
CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF
MISCELLANEOUS CURBS, GUTTERS, SIDEWALKS
AND PEDESTRIAN RAMPS AT VARIOUS
LOCATIONS THROUGHOUT THE CITY
(ENGINEERING SPECIFICATION NO. 98-1)
WHEREAS, on July 29, 1998, the City Council by Resolution No. 98-90
awarded a contract to MJC Construction Company for the replacement of concrete curbs, gutters,
sidewalks and pedestrian ramps at various locations in the City, at a contract cost of $272,850.00;
and
WHEREAS, during construction, several additional curbs, gutters, sidewalks and
pedestrian ramps were found to be in need of replacement; and
WHEREAS, it has been recommended by the City Engineer that the scope of
work in the contract with MJC Construction Company be expanded by approval of a change order
to replace the additional curbs, gutters, sidewalks and pedestrian ramps, at a cost of $75,000; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has further recommended that a transfer of project
funds be approved in order to provide funding for the change order.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
National City hereby approves Change Order No. 1 for the contract with MJC Construction
Company, Engineering Specification No. 98-1, for the replacement of miscellaneous curbs,
gutters, sidewalks and pedestrian ramps throughout the City.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council hereby authorizes that the
subject change order be funded by the transfer of project funds, as follows:
