HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 2000-11 (21)RESOLUTION NO. 2000 - 117 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY APPROVING CHANGE ORDER NO. 1, ACCEPTING THE WORK AND AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF A NOTICE OF COMPLETION FOR THE REROOFING OF THE LOWER PORTION OF THE LOUIS J. CAMACHO RECREATION CENTER (Engineering Specs. No. 00-1) BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of National City, California, as follows: It appearing to the satisfactionof the Engineering Department that all work required to be done by ROEJACK ROOFING, INC., Engineering Department Specification No. 00-1, for the reroofing of the lower portion of the Louis J. Camancho Recreation Center has been completed, the City Council of National City hereby accepts said work and authorizes the filing of a Notice of Completion ancj orders that payment for said work be made in accordance with said contract. CAMACHO RECREATION CENTER SPECIFICATION NO. 00-1 TO: MR. MITCHELL ROE ROEJACK ROOFING, INC. 1107 PETREE STREET EL CAJON, CA 92020 DESCRIPTION OF CHANGE: This change order is written to adjust the bid quantities to the actual quantity of work performed under this contract and to add a line item no. 2 for Install Roof Drain. Camacho \ Recreation Center LS 1 1 $ 47,777.00 $ 47,777.00 $ 47,777.00 2 Install Roof Drain EA - 2 $ 750.00 $ - $ 1,500.00 Additive Alternate Item 1 Deck Repair and Replacement SF 1000 96 $ 1.50 $ 1,500.00 $ 144.00 Total $49,277.00 $49,421.00 DISCUSSION: The Additive Alternate Bid Item, Deck Repair and Replacement, was bid on the assumption that 1000 square of decking would require replacement. After demolition of the previous roofing system it was determined that only three sheets of plywood decking (96 Square Feet) warranted replacement. Line Item No. 2 has been added to the contract to provide additional drainage to two areas of the roof that are currently ponding water. This original roof design problem is being addressed at this time to avoid deterioration of the new roofing material in these areas. CONTRACT ADJUSTMENT: As a result of this change order the contract price is adjusted as follows: 1. The contract price is increased in the amount of $144.00 from the current contract price of $49,277.00 to a new contract price of $49,421.00. 2. The contract time is increased by 48 working days due to the addition of the Roof Drain line item to the contract. The contract completion date was previously established as Monday, June 19, 2000 and has been extended to Friday, August 25, 2000. This change order shall be considered full compensation for furnishing and installing the materials, labor, tools and equipment, profit, overhead, and all incidentals for performing the work described above. Roejack Roofing, Inc. will not be entitled to damages or additional payment for delays as described in the 1997 edition of Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction, Section 6-6.3, for performing the work as described above.
