RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY
APPROVING ADJUSTMENTS TO THE
EXECUTIVE AND MANAGERIAL COMPENSATION PLAN,
AND IMPLEMENTING THE PLAN FOR FISCAL YEAR 2002/2003
FOR EXECUTIVE AND MANAGEMENT PERSONNEL
WHEREAS, in Fiscal Year 1999-2000, the City Council re-established a long-
standing Managerial Compensation Plan for City of National City Executive and Management
personnel; and
WHEREAS, the Plan calls for municipal executive and management positions to
be surveyed annually in order to update the City of National City's salary bands and benefits to
the average salaries of the San Diego County cities that were surveyed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
National City that the compensation and benefit plan for Executive and Management personnel
for Fiscal Year 2002/2003, as shown in Exhibit "A", is hereby approved effective at the start of
the first pay period in Fiscal Year 2002/2003.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby directed to reflect
said compensation plan in the Final Budget for Fiscal Year 2002/2003.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 6th day of August, 2002.

BENEFIT CHANGES
EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2002
♦ Compensation for use of personal autos for executive employees, not currently
assigned City Vehicles shall be $300.00 per month. The City Attorney would
receive $346.00 per month.
• Management employees who are eligible to retire under PERS and retire from
National City after July 1, 2002 will receive $10.00 per month for each year of
service with National City as a Retiree Health Benefit.
• Effective July 1, 2002, the Cafeteria Health Benefit will increase to $750/month for
Executives and to $625 per month for Managers. City Manager's Health Benefit
would increase to $850.00 per month, andthe City Attomey's to $800.00 per month.
• Effective July 1, 2002, vacation accruals for Executives and Managers will change
to 20 days per year after 10 years of service.
