A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY
AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF A GRANT APPLICATION,
THE INCURRING OF AN OBLIGATION, THE EXECUTION OF
A GRANT AGREEMENT AND ANY AMENDMENTS THERETO,
AND ANY OTHER DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO SECURE
A CEGP GRANT FROM THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA,
DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
WHEREAS, the City of National City, a city within the State of
California, wishes to apply for and receive an allocation of funds through the Code
Enforcement Grant Program ("CEGP"); and
WHEREAS, the California Department of Housing and Community
Development (herein referred to as "HCD") has issued a Notice of Funding
Availability ("NOFA") for the Code Enforcement Grant Program established by
Health and Safety Code Section 53533(a)6. Pursuant to the statute, HCD is
authorized to approve funding allocations for the program, subject to the terms and
conditions of the NOFA and program application forms.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that:
1. The City of National City shall submit to HCD an application to
participate in the Code Enforcement Grant Program in response to the
NOFA issued February 14, 2003 which will request a funding
allocation in an amount not to exceed $300,000 for the purchase of
the capital assets identified in the application to be used in the City of
National City. The application also commits the applicant to use,
support, and maintain the capital assets acquired with grant funds for
at least three years.
2. If the application for funding is approved, the City of National City
hereby agrees to use the funds for eligible capital asset(s) in the
manner presented in the application. as approved by HCD and in
accordance with the NOFA and application package. It also may
execute any and all instruments required by HCD for participation in
the Code Enforcement Grant Program.
3. The City of National City authorizes the City Manager to execute in
the name of the City of National City the application, the Standard
Agreement, and all other documents required by HCD for participation
in the Code Enforcement Grant Program.
