HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 2005 - 92RESOLUTION 2005 - 92 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY APPROVING THE TRANSFER OF CERTAIN CITY -OWNED PROPERTIES TO THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY - WHEREAS, on December -16, 2003,-the-Communi ent -- Commission Board approved the issuance of a $5 million tax allocation bond to provide funding for: 1) gap financing for the construction of the City's Fire Station ($2,225,000); 2) construction funding for the Art Center ($1,575,000); and, 3) collections and equipment for the new Main Library ($1,200,000); and WHEREAS, The City Council has determined that the transfer of the following City -owned properties to the Community Development Commission would serve as adequate consideration for the use of the $5 million funds: 1. Plaza Bonita Center Way (Assessor's Parcel Number: 564-310-03) 2. Plaza Bonita Center Way (Assessor's Parcel Number: 564-290-71 and 75) 3. 12th Street, east of National City Boulevard (Assessor's Parcel Number: 556-554-16); and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 37350 of the California Government Code, a local jurisdiction shall conduct a Public Hearing prior to the disposition of any real property; and WHEREAS, a Public Hearing Notice was duly published in the National City Star News and San Diego Daily Transcript on April 22, 2005 to inform the general public that the City Council will be considering the transfer of certain City -owned properties to the Community Development Commission; and WHEREAS, a duly advertised Public Hearing was conducted on May 3, 2005 to invite public input and testimony prior to the City Council's action on the proposed transfer of certain City -owned properties to the Community Development Commission. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of National City hereby approves the transfer of the abovementioned City -owned properties to the Community Development Commission of the City of National City, and the Mayor is hereby authorized, on behalf of the City Council, to execute any documents relating to such transfer. -- Signature Page to Follow -- Resolution No. 2005 — 92 May 3, 2005 Page 2 PASSED and ADOPTED this 3rd day of May, 2005.
