Dalla, /City Clerk RESOLUTION NO. 2005-122 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY AUTHORIZING THE CITY ENGINEER TO EXECUTE CHANGE ORDER NO. TWO WITH HMS CONSTRUCTION, INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF $7,999.28 FOR MODIFICATION OF THE FOUNDATION DUE TO EXISTING STORM WATER PIPES ENCOUNTERED UNDER SIDEWALK FOR THE SWEETWATER ROAD AT THE CALMOOR STREET AND FAIRLOMAS DRIVE TRAFFIC SIGNAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT WHEREAS, the contract for the Sweetwater Road at Calmoor Street and Fairlomas Drive Traffic Signal Improvement Project was awarded to HMS Construction, Inc. on August 3, 2004, by the adoption of Resolution No. 2004-141; and WHEREAS, during excavation for the footings of traffic signal locations I and J, three storm drain pipes sixty-six inches (66) in diameter were encountered at a depth of six feet two inches (6'2). The standard footing depth for each traffic signal is eight feet (8'); and WHEREAS, due to the storm drain pipes, modification of the standard footings to a six-foot by six-foot (6' x 6) pad footing for traffic signal I, and a seven -foot by seven -foot (7 x 7) pad footing for traffic signal J is required. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of National City hereby authorizes the City Engineer to execute Change Order No. 2 with HMS Construction, Inc. in the amount of $7,999.28 for the modification of the standard footings to a six-foot by six-foot (6' x 6') pad footing for traffic signal I, and a seven -foot by seven -foot (7 x 7) pad footing for traffic signal J at the Sweetwater Road at Calmoor Street and Fairlomas Drive Traffic Signal Improvement Project.
