HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 2005 - 232RESOLUTION 2005 — 232 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY REVISING THE SCOPE OF THE CITY'S PILOT SMART GROWTH INCENTIVE GRANT PROGRAM GRANT APPLICATION FOR THE NATIONAL CITY BOULEVARD SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT TO A $2.302 MILLION PROJECT TO CONFORM WITH SANDAG'S FUNDING CRITERIA WHEREAS, on June 21, 2005, the City Council approved Resolution No. 2005- 121, which authorized the filing of applications for the Pilot Smart Growth Incentive Grant Program administered by the San Diego Association of Government (SANDAG) for the following three National City projects: National City Boulevard Median Improvements, National City Boulevard Sidewalk and Lighting Improvements, and Fountain Plaza. The total project cost for the three projects was $6.525 Million, with $2.978 Million required in grant funding; and WHEREAS, the SANDAG grant evaluation panel determined that the three projects submitted for funding were components of improvements to one project area and should be treated as one project limited to the maximum grant amount of $2 Million, rather than the $2.978 Million funding request made by the City; and WHEREAS, to comply with SANDAG's criteria, staff reduced the scope of the project from a 13-block area to a 6.5-block area, which reduced the project total from $4.578 Million to $2.32 Million, and the grant -funding request from $2.978 Million to $2 Million. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby approves the revision of the project application for SANDAG's Pilot Smart Growth Incentive Grant Program for the National City Boulevard Sidewalk Improvement Project from $4.578 Million to $2.32 Million, and the grant -funding request from $2.978 Million to $2 Million.
