RESOLUTION OF THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY AWARDING
A CONTRACT TO FLORES SIERRA CONTRACTORS , INC.,
IN THE AMOUNT OF $33,352 FOR THE DEMOLITION
OF A SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL UNIT LOCATED
AT 1820 G AVENUE, NATIONAL CITY, AND AUTHORIZING
THE APPROPRIATION OF SAID FUNDS FROM
THE TAX INCREMENT UNDESIGNATED FUND BALANCE
ACCOUNT TO THE 1820 G AVENUE DEMOLITION ACCOUNT
WHEREAS, the CDC acquired the property located at 1820 G Avenue using
$875,000 in federal HOME funds to develop an affordable housing project; and
WHEREAS, on November 21, 2006, the CDC entered into an Exclusive
Negotiations Agreement (ENA) with Habitat for Humanity to prepare plans for the development
of affordable housing on the site; and
WHEREAS, on October, 7, 2008, the CDC approved a Disposition and
Development Agreement (DDA) with Habitat For Humanity for the development of an eight (8)
unit townhome development affordable for families at sixty (60%) of the area median income;
and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the ENA and DDA, the CDC agreed to demolish an
existing single-family residential unit and an out -building on the site prior to turning the property
over to Habitat for Humanity; and
WHEREAS, representatives of the Community Development Commission of the
City of National City ("CDC"), in open session on October 1, 2008, did publicly open, examine,
and declare four sealed bids for the demolition of a single-family residential unit located at 1820
G Avenue in National City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Community Development
Commission of the City of National City hereby awards the contract for the demolition of a
single-family residential unit and out -building located at 1820 G Avenue to the lowest
responsive, responsible bidder, to wit:
FLORES SIERRA CONTRACTORS, INC.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of National City that
the Chairman is hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the City a contract in the amount of
$33,352 with Flores Sierra Contractors, Inc., for the demolition of a single-family residential unit
located at 1820 G Avenue in National City. Said contract is of file in the office of the City Clerk.
BE IT RESOLVED that the Community Development Commission of the City of
National City hereby authorizes the following appropriation of funds:
