A RESOLUTION DETERMINING THE EXISTENCE OF
A PUBLIC NUISANCE AND ORDERING THE ABATEMENT
THEREOF
WHEREAS, THE City Council of the City of National
City has received the report of the Planning Director of
the City of National City dated November 28, 1979 concerning
violations of City law existing on premises commonly known
as 1600 block of Cleveland Avenue, West side, said property
being occupied by Scrap Disposal, Inc., and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires and intends to
preserve the public health, safety and welfare of the citizens
of the City of National City through the upholding of all
City laws;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that:
1. The City Council finds and determines that
there exists on premises commonly known as the 1600 block
of Cleveland Avenue, west side, National City, California,
numerous violations of City law, including, but not limited
to the following violations of the National City Municipal
Code, all section citations are to the National City Muni-
cipal Code:
Cleveland Avenue entrance to scale:
Broken curb, driveway apron and sidewalk

Deteriorated asphalt paving, on -site
(18.96.090 and 18.58.770 A and B)
Inadequate maintenance of parkway landscaping
(13.18.050 and 18.96.100)
Placement of bulk trash container on public
roadway (Vehicle Code)
Cleveland Avenue Parkway:
Inadequate landscaping maintenance. Dead
tree, dead turf (13.18.050, 18.18.290 C, and
18.96.100)
Cleveland AVenue Parkway:
Inadequate landscaping maintenance (13.19.050
and 18.96.100)
Cleveland Avenue at 17th Street (Scale area):
Storage outside of fenced area. No view
obscuring fence. (18.96.030, 18.94.010,

from exterior lot lines.
Paving of yards is either non-existent or
covered with dust.
Structures need to be painted.
Litter and combustible waste in evidence.
2. The City Council finds that the afore-
mentioned violations at the aforementioned premises are,
and do presently constitute a public nuisance.
3. The City Council directs the City Attorney,
to take all steps, both in civil and criminal courts,
necessary to abate the public nuisances herein described.
