HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 13,207RESOLUTION NO. 13,207 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA, CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE HOLDING OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON TUESDAY, APRIL 8, 1980, FOR THE ELECTION OF CERTAIN OFFICERS OF SAID CITY AS REQUIRED BY THE PRO- VISIONS OF THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA RELATING TO GENERAL LAW CITIES AND FOR THE SUB- MISSION TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF SAID CITY OF A QUESTION RELATING TO POLICE RETIREMENT. WHEREAS, under the provisions of the laws relat- ing to general law cities in the state of California, a regular general municipal election shall be held on April 8, 1980, for the election of Two Members of the City Council of said City for the full term of four years, a City Clerk of said City for the full term of four years, and a City Treasurer of said City for the full term of four years; and WHEREAS, the City Council of. said City also desires to submit to the qualified electors of said City at said election the question relating to police retire- ment hereinafter set forth; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That pursuant to the requirements of the laws of the State of California relating to General Law Cities within said State, there shall be, and there is hereby called and ordered, held in the City of National City, California on Tuesday, April 8, 1980, a regular muni- cipal election of the qualified electors of said City for the purpose of electing Two Members of th.e City Council of said City for the full term of four years; a City Clerk of said City for the full term of four years; and a City Treasurer of said City for the full term of four years. SECTION 2. A hole punched in the voting square after the word "NO" in the manner hereinbefore provided shall be counted against the adoption of the question. SECTION 3. That the ballots to be used at said election shall be, both as to form and matter contained therein, such as may be required by law to be used thereat. SECTION 4. That the City Clerk of said City is hereby authorized, instructed and directed to procure and furnish any and all official ballots, notices, printed matter and all supplies, equipment and paraphernalia that may be necessary in order to properly and lawfully conduct said election. SECTION 5. That the polls for said election shall be open at seven o'clock a.m. of the day of said election and shall remain open continuously from said time until seven o'clock p.m. of the same day when said polls shall be closed, except as provided in Section 14301 of the Elections Code of the State of California. SECTION 6. That in all particulars not recited in this Resolution, said election shall be held and conducted as provided by law for holding municipal elec- tions in said City. SECTION 7. That notice of the time and place of holding said election is hereby given and the City Clerk is hereby authorized, insturcted and directed to give such further or additional notice of said election, in time, form and manner as required by law. SECTION 8. That the City Clerk shall certify to passage and adoption of this Resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original Resolutions of said City; and shall make a minute of passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
