A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING
AMENDMENT GP-1-78 TO THE NATIONAL CITY
GENERAL PLAN
The City Council of the City of National City
does resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, the City Council has caused and duly
held studies and proceedings for the timely amendment
of the General Plan of the City of National City, pursuant
to Title 7, Chapter 3, Article 7, of the Government Code
of the State of California, and
WHEREAS, after having provided proper notice
of the time and place as provided by law the City Council
has held a public hearing to consider said amendment, and
WHEREAS, the City Council did consider all
evidence and testimony presented at said hearing, includ-
ing the Planning Department Staff Report and the Planning
Commission recommendations, and
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes the need
and desirability to conduct reviews of, and consider
amendments to, the General Plan to accommodate the changing
needs of the community;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City
Council approve an amendment to the National City General
Plan and General Plan Map as follows:
1. To change from Residential Density 16-20
to Residential Density 6-10 the following
areas:
The City blocks bounded by 4th Street,
"D" Avenue, 6th Street and the northerly
prolongation of the centerline of "A"
Avenue, and
The City blocks bounded by 4th Street,
"G" Avenue, 7th Street, and "D" Avenue,
as shown on the map entitled GP-1-78 (1)
on file in the City Clerk's office as
Document No. 61354

2. To change from Residential Density 16-20
to Residential Density 11-15 the following
properties:
The lots fronting on both sides of 7th & on the 7th
Street cul-de-sac east of "M" Avenue.
The lots at 601-603 "M" Avenue, and
1312 through 1340 6th Street inclusive;
The lots at 644, 704, and 708 "M" Avenue;
The two landlocked parcels adjoining the
west side of the properties at 704 and
708 "M" Avenue,
as shown on the map entitled GP-1-78 (a)
on file in the City Clerk's office as
Document No. 61355
3. To change from Residential Density 16-20
to Residential Density 6-10 the following
properties:
The lots on the south side of Melrose
Street - 910 through 940 inclusive;
940 1st Street;
The lots on the north side of 2nd Street
925 through 1001 inclusive;
The lots on the south side of 2nd Street
910 through 944 inclusive,
as shown on the map entitled GP-1-78 (3)
on file in the City Clerk's office as
Document No. 61356
4. To change from Residential Density 16-20
to Residential Density 6-10 the properties
on the south side of 4th Street between
2026 through 2140 inclusive, and the
northerly 150 feet of the property at
2004 4th Street, as shown on the map
entitled GP-1-78 (4 & 5) on file in the
City Clerk's office as Document No. 61357
5. To change from Residential Density 16-20
to Residential Density 11-15 the following
areas:
The properties on the east side of "T"
Avenue, 431 through 535 inclusive;
The southerly 50 feet of the property at
2004 4th Street;
The lots on the north side of 7th Street
from "T" Avenue through 2047 inclusive;
The lots on the south side of 7th Street -
2012 through 2048 inclusive;
The lots on the north side of 8th Street -
2005 through 2031 inclusive;
The parcel between 7th and 8th Streets
and adjoining the east side of the
properties at 2048 7th and 2031 8th Streets,
as shown on the map entitled GP-1-78 (4 & 5)
on file in the City Clerk's office as Document
No. 61357
6. To change from Neighborhood Commercial to
General Commercial the property at 835 Palm
Avenue and 1620 to 1750 East 8th Street, and
the property at 1606 East 8th Street, as
shown on the map entitled GP-1-78 (7) on file
in the City Clerk's office as Document No.
61358
7. To change from Neighborhood Commercial to
General Commercial the following properties:
The vacant CL-PD zoned properties on the
south side of Plaza Boulevard, east of
Euclid Avenue (Assessor's Parcels 558-010-
47, 51 and 52) ;
The vacant CL-PD zoned parcel on the south
side of Plaza Boulevard, west of Euclid
Avenue (Assessor's Parcel 558-010-46);
The site of Fedmart Shopping Center on
the north side of Plaza Boulevard and
east side of Euclid Avenue (Assessor's
Parcels 558-010-35, 41, 43 and 48);
The vacant CL-PD zoned properties on
the west side of Euclid Avenue and north
side of Plaza Boulevard (Assessor's
Parcels 558-010-32, 42, 53 and 557-310-21),
as shown on the map entitled GP-1-78 (6) on
file in the City Clerk's office as Document
No. 61359
