HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 12,801RESOLUTION NO. 12,801 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY OPPOSING SENATE BILL 1746 (MILLS) WHEREAS, on March 15, 1978, Senator James R. Mills introduced Senate Bill 1746 regarding the reorganization of regional planning in San Diego, and WHEREAS, the City Council met with Senator Mills at an adjourned meeting on May 19, 1978, to discuss among other things the effect of SB 1746, and WHEREAS, on May 23, 1978, the City Council urged that SB 1746 be laid over one year for further study and recommendation, and WHEREAS, SB 1746 has been referred to the Local Government Committee of the Assembly, and WHEREAS, the City Council has certain reserva- tions concerning the proposed legislation such as its effect on "home rule" and the limiting of city government to an advisory role in regional planning and review. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of National City hereby opposes SB 1746 in its present form or any amended form which limits National City's influence on local or regional issues. 1978.
