A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING AMENDMENT
GP-2-78 TO THE NATIONAL CITY GENERAL PLAN
The City Council of the City of National City
does resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, the City Council has caused and duly
held studies and proceedings for the timely amendment
of the General Plan of the City of National City, pursuant
to Title 7, Chapter 3, Article 7, of the Government Code
of the State of California, and
WHEREAS, after having provided proper notice
of the time and place as provided by law the City Council
has held a public hearing to consider said amendment, and
WHEREAS, the City Council did consider all
evidence and testimony presented at said hearing, includ-
ing the Planning Department Staff Report and the Planning
Commission recommendations, and
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes the need
and desirability to conduct reviews of, and consider
amendments to, the General Plan to accommodate the changing
needs of the community;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City
Council approve an amendment to the National City General
Plan and General Plan Map as follows:
1. To change from Residential Density 11-15 to
Residential Density 6-10 the following properties:
The north side of 10th Street - 1627 through
1745 inclusive - and including the southerly
91 feet of the vacant parcel between 1719 and
1745 loth Street,
as shown on the map entitled GP-2-78(1) on file in the City
Clerk's office (Document No. 61857 ).
2. To change from Residential Density 21-30 to
Residential Density 6-10 the properties fronting on the
east side of Palm Avenue - 1405 through 1525 inclusive
and the lot at 1615 16th Street, as shown on the map
entitled GP-2-78(2) on file in the City Clerk's Office as
Document No.
61857
3. To add to the general plan map - rapid
transit station with parking at 24th Street and Wilson
Avenue, as shown on the map entitled GP-2-78(6), but
excluding the portion of 22nd Street from Wilson Avenue
east.
4. To amend Chapter VII- "Housing and Resi-
dential Neighborhoods" - of the National City General
Plan to add specific policies regarding condominium
conversions and minimum size criteria for condominium
developments as follows:
"5.
Limit Condominium Subdivisions,
both new and conversions, to larger
projects having 5 or more dwelling
units - where space relationships,
useable open areas, and maintenance
can be effectively arranged and managed,
the design of such projects being
distinctly unique and capable of
assuring special design amenities
that are not found in small apartments
and duplexes."
5. To change from "Neighborhood Commercial"
to "Residential 6-10 Dwelling Units/Acre" the property at
3208 East 8th Street (Assessor's Parcel No. 558-030-34),
as shown on the map entitled GP-2-78(8) on file in the
City Clerk's office as Document No. 61857
but ex-
cluding the frontage on Plaza Boulevard to a depth of
115 feet and the westerly 125 feet of frontage on 8th
Street to a depth of 125 feet.
6. To change from "Residential 1-5 Dwelling
Units/Acre" to "Residential 6-10 Dwelling Units/Acre"
the property at 3348 and 3360 Valley Road (Assessor's
Parcels 564-310-32 and 33), as shown on the map entitled
GP-2-78(9) on file in the City Clerk's office as Document
No. 61857 .
