HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 12,807RESOLUTION NO. 12,807 RESOLUTION CONCURRING IN THE FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE SAN DIEGO REGIONAL SOLID WASTE PLAN WHEREAS, Section 17939 of the California Administrative Code precludes the implementation of new or expanded solid waste facilities within counties having approved county solid waste management plans without a finding by the State Solid Waste Management Board that such facilities are in conformance with approved plans, and WHEREAS, the County of San Diego has an approved county solid waste management plan, and WHEREAS, the County of San Diego considers it necessary to provide for replacement or additional industrial liquid waste handling facilities to accomodate the region's waste loadings, and WHEREAS, the State Solid Waste Management Board is unable to make a finding of conformance with the San Diego Regional Solid Waste Management Plan for replacement or addition of industrial liquid waste facilities because such facilities are not specifically identified with this county's plan, and therefore, requires that the Plan be amended before such a finding of conformance can be made, and WHEREAS, any amendment to the County Solid Waste Management Plan is subject to the approval of the majority of the cities within the County represent- ing a majority of the population of the incorporated area of the County; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of National City has reviewed the First Amendment to the San Diego Regional Solid Waste Management Plan 1976-2000 which provides for the establishment and/or replacement industrial liquid waste handling facilities, and concurs with said amendment.
