RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE PACIFIC LEGAL FOUNDATION
TO ASSIST NATIONAL CITY IN PURSUING ACTION TO COMPEL
COMPLETION OF ROUTE 252
WHEREAS, National City executed an agreement
with the State of California authorizing the construction
of Route 252 through its boundaries, and
WHEREAS, National City supports the completion
of State Route 252 as a key link in the Regional Trans-
portation System, and
WHEREAS, the California Transportation Commission
has taken action to rescind Resolutions authorizing com-
pletion of Route 252, and
WHEREAS, the California Transportation Commission
failed to comply with its contracted obligations and
failed to observe certain statutes in rescinding its support
for completion of Route 252, and
WHEREAS, National City believes it has legal
remedies to compel the State to comply with its contracts
and statutes, and
WHEREAS, the Pacific Legal Foundation is a non-
profit foundation dedicated to ensuring that California
statutes are properly and fully observed;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City
Council of the City of National City, California, requests
the services of the Pacific Legal Foundation to pursue
legal actions of compelling the State to complete Route
252 and agrees to pay all court costs necessary to
pursue said actions.
