HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 12,233RESOLUTION NO. 12,233 RESOLUTION CONFIRMING APPOINTMENT OF ACTING INTERIM CITY MANAGER WHEREAS, the previous City Manager resigned his employment with the City of National City on December 7, 1976 and thereupon went upon executive leave, and WHEREAS, the affairs of the City of National City require that the City government be administered by an ex- perienced City Manager, and WHEREAS, without the employment of an experienced City Manager there is a potential for the stoppage of import- ant public business, including, but not limited to the 3.9 million dollar sewer rehabilitation project in the City of National City, and WHEREAS, it is necessary to commence the prepara- tion of the annual budget for the City of National City, and WHEREAS, the management of the City of National City including the preparation of the budget and the super- vision of the administration of major public works projects require the specialized services that can only be rendered by an experienced City Manager with detailed knowledge of the makeup of the City of National City and its government, and WHEREAS, Cleo Osburn has served from July 1, 1965 to January 2, 1975 as the City Manager of the City of National City, and therefore has the requisite special skills to meet the needs of the City for an experienced interim City Manager; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that pursuant to Section 21153 of the California Government Code, Cleo Osburn is appointed Acting City Manager commencing January 1, 1977, for a period not to exceed 90 working days at a salary of $3,000 per month.
