HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 12,255RESOLUTION NO. 12,255 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA COMMENDING GEORGE M. MATHESON AND JAMES R. MATHESON FOR THEIR DONATING FOR A PUBLIC PURPOSE THE ELIZUR STEEL-CRANDALL-ENNIS HOUSE WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of National City has authorized and directed the Community Development Commission to plan and carry out the City's Community Development Block Grant Program pursuant to the U. S. Housing & Community Development Act of 1974; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of National City approved, by Ordinance No. 1505 on April 13, 1976, a Redevelopment Plan for the Center City Project which Plan is being carried out by the Community Develop- ment Commission pursuant to the U. S. Housing & Community Development Act of 1974 and the California Community Redevelopment Law; and WHEREAS, the Community Development Commission, at its meeting held February 1, 1977 authorized the acquisition of the Elizur Steel -Crandall -Ennis House and the re-establishment of said House within Kimball Square, an historical and architectural preservation area provided for in the adopted Redevelopment Plan for the Center City Project; and WHEREAS, George M. Matheson and James R. Matheson, the owners of the Elizur Steel -Crandall -Ennis House located at 904 East 8th Street have agreed to donate said House as a charitable contribution and for a public purpose, namely its relocation and re-establishment as a part of Kimball Square; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by. the City Council of the City of National City, California that Mr. George M. Matheson and Mr. James R. Matheson'are hereby commended for their public spirit and their interest in the welfare of all of the people of the City of National City which is reflected in their giving as a donation and for a public purpose the Elizur Steel -Crandall -Ennis House. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 8th day of February, 1977. ATTEST:
