HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 12,586RESOLUTION NO. 12,586 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY TO FILE, ON BEHALF OF THE CITY, AN APPLICATION TO THE SECRETARY OF THE U. S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING & URBAN DEVELOPMENT FOR AN URBAN DEVELOPMENT ACTION GRANT FOR A PROJECT FOR LOT 14 AND ABUTTING AREA, MAP 8038, E. J. CHRISTMAN BUSINESS & INDUSTRIAL PARK REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT, NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,897,000. WHEREAS, the City of National City published in a newspaper with general circulation in the locality and distributed to community organizations information for Citizens Participation in connection with the Urban Development Action Grant Program pursuant to the U. S. Housing & Community Development Act of 1977; and WHEREAS, notices of two public hearings in connection with the Urban Development Action Grant Program were published in a timely manner in a newspaper with general circulation in the locality and such public hearings were held on Tuesday, December 6, 1977 and on Tuesday, December 13, 1977 at the City Council Chamber in the City's Civic Center; and WHEREAS, a specific Urban Development Action Grant Project proposal was considered by the City's Citizens Committee for Community Development at its meeting held November 30, 1977 and the Committee unanimously recommended that the City Council authorize the filing of an Application with the Secretary of the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for said Project proposal after the second Public Hearing on the Urban Development Action Grant Program by this City Council; and WHEREAS, the City Council has given full and adequate opportunity for citizens participation in connection with the Urban Development Action Grant Program and has given full and adequate opportunity for interested persons and interested community organizations to be heard at each of two public hearings on the Urban Development Action Grant Program; and WHEREAS, the City Council has fully considered the Urban Development Action Grant Program and the specific Project recommended to the City Council by its Citizens Committee for Community Development; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of National City, California that the Mayor is authorized and directed to file, on behalf of the City of National City, California, an Application to the Secretary of the U. S. Department of Housing & Urban Development for an Urban Development Action Grant for a Project for Lot 14 and abutting area, Map 8038, E. J. Christman Business & Industrial Park Redevelopment Project, National City, California in the amount of $1,897,000.
