A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AMENDMENT (GP-2-77)
TO THE NATIONAL CITY GENERAL PLAN AND GENERAL
PLAN MAP
WHEREAS, the City Council has held studies
and proceedings for the timely amendment of the General
Plan of the City of National City, pursuant to Title 7,
Chapter 3, Article 7, of the Government Code of the State
of California, and
WHEREAS, after having provided proper notice
of the time and place as provided by law the City Council
has held a public hearing to consider said amendment, and
WHEREAS, the City Council did consider all
evidence and testimony presented at said hearing, including
the staff report, and
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes the need
and desirability to conduct reviews of, and consider
amendments to, the General Plan to accommodate the chang-
ing needs of the community;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City
Council of the City of National City approves an amendment
to the National City General Plan and General Plan Map
as follows:
1. a..i.To change the land use designation from
"Park" to "Residential 16-20 Dwelling Units/
Acre" on the properties located on the north
and south side of 24th Street between Newell
Avenue and Las Palmas Park, but excluding the
property at the northwest corner of 24th and
Newell, and the properties at 1839, 1923, and
1925 24th Street, as shown on the map entitled
GP-2-77 on file in the City Clerk's office
as Document No. 59897
(Assessor's Parcels 563-061-18, 20, 21, 22,
23, 26, 36, 53, 57, 58, 63, & 71; 561-360-8,
16, 23, & 32).
b.- To change the land use designation from
"Park" to "Residential 6-10 Dwelling Units/
Acre" on the property located at the north-
west corner_of 24th and Newell, and the
properties at 1839, 1923, and 1925 24th Street,
as shown on the map entitled GP-2-77 on file
in the City Clerk's office as Document No.
59897
(Assessor's Parcels 561-360-25, 27, 29 & 31).
2. To change the land use designation from
"Commercial General" to "Light Industrial"
on the
- properties within the half blocks facing
the east side of Roosevelt Avenue between
8th and 16th Streets; and
- the properties within the large block
between 16th Street on the north, Roosevelt
and West Avenues on the east, 18th Street
on the south, and Hoover Avenue on the
west.

& 35)

3. To change the land use designation from
"Commercial Automotive" to "General Commercial"
on the two city blocks between National and
"A" Avenues, and 14th and 16th Streets, as
shown on the map entitled GP-2-77 on file
in the City Clerk's office as Document No.
59897
4. To change the land use designation from
"Commercial Automotive" to "Commercial General"
on the properties:
Within the blocks bounded by National Avenue,
16th Street, "B" Avenue, and 18th Street; and
On the south side of 18th Street between
National Avenue and "B" Avenue (Assessor's
Parcels 560-210-1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, &
10); and
Within the area between National and "A"
Avenues, and 18th and 20th Streets, but
excluding the Ball Oldsmobile auto dealer-
ship at 1935 National Avenue (Assessor's
Parcels 560-210-4, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 41,
& 42) ; and
The triangular city block bounded by National
Avenue, West Avenue, and 16th Street; and
The Brown Volkswagen dealership at 5 West
18th Street (Assessor's Parcels 560-143-25
& 26)
as shown on the map entitled GP-2-77 on file
in the City Clerk's office as Document No.

5. To change the land use designation from
"Light Industrial" to "Commercial Automotive"
on the properties within the area bounded:
On the east by the westerly right-of-way
line of National Avenue; and,
On the south by a line parallel to and
approximately 720 feet southerly of the
southerly right-of-way line of West 30th
Street; and,
On the west by a line parallel to
and approximately 300 feet westerly
of the westerly right-of-way line of
National Avenue; and,
On the north by the current boundary
line between "Light Industrial" and
"Automobile and Related Commercial"
parallel to and approximately 300
feet southerly of the southerly right-
of-way line of West 30th Street
as shown on the map entitled GP-2-77 on
file in the City Clerk's office as Document
No. 59897 .
6. To change the land use designation from
"Light Industrial" to "Neighborhood Commercial"
on the property at 3103 "D" Avenue (Assessor's
Parcel 562-280-16), as shown on the map
entitled GP-2-77 on file in the City Clerk's
office as Document No. 59897 .
7. To change the land use designation from
"Residential 6-10 Dwelling Units/Acre" to
"Commercial Tourist" on the properties within
the Reiner Annexation located on the northerly
side of Sweetwater Road adjacent to the
easterly city limit (Assessor's Parcels 564-
310-03, 04, & 05), as shown on the map entitled
GP-2-77 on file in the City Clerk's office
as Document No. 59897 .
8. To change the land use designation from
"General Commercial" to "Residential 21-30
Dwelling Units/Acre" on the properties on
the east and west side of "B" Avenue between
Plaza Boulevard and 12th Street excluding
the property at 1107 "B" Avenue (Assessor's
Parcels 556-532-8, 9, 10, 11, & 12; 556-540-20,
21, & 22; 556-551-1, 2, 6, 12, 15, 16, 17, & 18),
as shown on the map entitled GP-2-77 on file
in the City Clerk's office as Document No. 59897 .
To change the land use designation from
"General Commercial" to "Residential 31-40
Dwelling Units/Acre" on the property located
at 1107 "B" Avenue (Assessor's Parcel 556-
551-31 & 14), as shown on the map entitled
GP-2-77 on file in the City Clerk's office
as Document No. 59897 .
To change the land use designation from
"Public & Quasi -Public -Historical Area" to
"Public & Quasi -Public -Government" the pro-
perties on the east and west side of "A"
Avenue between llth and 12th Streets (Assessor's
Parcels 556-540-5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13,
14, 15, 16, 17, 18, & 19), as shown on the
map entitled GP-2-77 on file in the City
Clerk's office as Document No. 59897
To change the land use designation from
"Public & Quasi -Public -Historical Area" to
"Residential 6-10 Dwelling Units/Acre" the
properties on the east and west side of "A"
Avenue between Plaza Boulevard and llth Street
(Assessor's Parcels 556-531-4, 9, 10, 11, 12,
13, 14, 15; & 556-532-1,.2,. 3, 4, 5, 6, & 7),

To change the land use designation from
"General Commercial" to "Residential 6-10
Dwelling Units/Acre" on the properties
- Within the area bounded by Plaza Boulevard,

of the alley and northerly prolongation
thereof, located between "B" and "C"
Avenues;

9.. To change the land use designation from
"Neighborhood Commercial" to "General
Commercial" on the commercial properties
- On the south side of Plaza Boulevard and

- Within the block bounded by 8th, Olive
Plaza, and Harbison, but excluding the
residential properties fronting on the
west side of Olive Street, the service

- On the commercial property at 3423 Plaza

b. To change the land use designation from

to "Residential 11-15 Dwelling Units/Acre"
on the properties fronting on the north
and south side of 7th Street between
Palm Avenue and the northerly prolongation
of the centerline of "N" Avenue (Assessor's

17, 18, 19, and the southerly 155 feet
of Parcels 1, 20, & 21; 557-102-1, 2, 4,

11. To change the land use designation from

12. To change the land use designation from
"Park" to "General Commercial" on the
property at the northwest corner of Grove
Street and Sweetwater Road (Assessor's
Parcel 563-150-22), as shown on the map

office as Document No. 59897 •
