HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 11,959RESOLUTION NO. 11,959 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY SUPPORTING THE COUNTY OF SAN DIEGO AS THE AGENCY TO ESTABLISH A HEALTH SYSTEMS AGENCY FOR THE SAN DIEGO AND IMPERIAL COUNTIES WHEREAS, Congress has enacted the National Health Planning and Resource Development ACT OF 1974, also known as Public Law 93-641, which, among other things, attempts to improve health services and prevent duplication of efforts; and WHEREAS, Public Law 96-641 permits the estab- lishment of a Health System Agency (HSA) to replace the Comprehensive Health Planning Association; and WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the City Council of National City, that the Health Systems Agency should consist of a governing board composed of elected officials which would be more receptive to the needs of the public. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of National City that it endorses the formation of a Health Systems Agency for San Diego and Imperial Counties by the formation of a joint powers agreement under the aegis of the Boards of Supervisors of the County of San Diego and Imperial County.
