HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 12,204RESOLUTION NO. 12,204 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF APPLICATIONS FOR FEDERAL HIGHWAY FUNDS The City Council of the City of National City does resolve as follows: WHEREAS, congress authorized the expenditure of road funds for local projects by the Federal Highway Act of 1976, and WHEREAS, the City's traffic growth has exceeded its financial growth, preventing completion of needed projects in a timely manner, and WHEREAS, completion of Euclid Avenue in National City is of regional significance; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council directs the staff to make application to the Federal Highway Administration for funds to improve the following streets with the fiscal years 1976-78: 1. Regional Highway Projects a. Euclid Avenue between Plaza Boulevard and 16th Street (Phase I) four -lane major street; b. Euclid Avenue between 16th and 18th Streets, (Phase II) four -lane major Street; c. Euclid Avenue between 18th and 22nd Streets (Phase III). 2. Transit Project - Bus Turnout at Plaza Boulevard and South Bay Plaza 3. Traffic Signal Project - Sweetwater and Valley Roads PASSED AND ADOPTED this 14th day of December, 1976. ATTEST: CITYYCLERK
