RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF NATIONAL CITY,
CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING FILING A CLAIM FOR 2%
BICYCLE MONEY FROM THE "LOCAL TRANSPORTATION
FUND" FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF BICYCLE FACILITIES
WHEREAS, Chapter 4, Article 4, Section 99261,
and Article 8, Section 99401, of the Public Utilities Code
authorizes the Comprehensive Planning Organization to set
forth rules and regulations for the administration of the
Local Transportation Fund; and,
WHEREAS, Local Transportation Fund Procedural
Guidelines for Fiscal Year 1975-76 Claims adopted by the
Comprehensive Planning Organization January 21, 1974
provides that claims may be filed for the implementation
of facilities for the exclusive use by bicycles; and,
WHEREAS, the "Bay Route Bicycle Trail" is
identified in both "A Plan for Bicycle Ways and Trails
in National City, California" adopted by City Council
in April, 1972, and Chapter VIII-B - Environmental
Management -Open Space of the National City General Plan
adopted by City Council in October 1974; and,
WHEREAS, the City of National City proposes
to construct a portion of the "Bay Route" system; and,
WHEREAS, this proposed project is consistent
with the adopted Bicycle Plan and the National City
General Plan;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City
Council hereby authorizes the filing of a claim in the
amount of $80,000.00 for the Fiscal Year 1975-76, to be
drawn from the "Local Transportation Fund" for the purpose
of constructing bicycle facilities.
