HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 11,864RESOLUTION NO. 11,864 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA, CALLING, PROVIDING FOR AND GIVING NOTICE OF A SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON DECEMBER 9, 1975, FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF SAID CITY A MEASURE RELATING TO THE ADOPTION OF AN ORDINANCE WHICH WOULD REPEAL THE APPROVAL OF THE REDEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR THE BONITA CENTER REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AS THE SAME IS SET FORTH IN ORDINANCE NO. 1438. WHEREAS, certain citizens of the City of National City have published a "NOTICE OF INTENT TO CIRCULATE PETITION" in which petition those citizens propose the adoption of an ordinance which would repeal the previously adopted National City Ordinance No. 1438 which approved the redevelopment plan for the Bonita Center Redevelopment Project, and WHEREAS, the City Council and City of National City desires to respond to the wishes of the citizens and provide for public consideration of the construction of the Bonita Center Redevelopment Project; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETER- MINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That said City Council, pursuant to its right and authority so to do, does hereby determine that there shall be and there is hereby called and ordered, a special municipal election, to be held in the City of National City, County of San Diego, State of California, on Tuesday, the 9th day of December, 1975, and that said City Council, pursuant to its right and authority so to do, does hereby determine that there shall be and there is hereby ordered submitted to the qualified electors of said City at said special municipal election to be held on December 9, 1975, the following question, to wit: Shall the ordinance repealing the previously adopted ordinance No. 1438 which approved the redevelop- ment plan for the Bonita Center Redevelopment project be adopted? YES NO • A dot ( ) placed in the voting square after the word "YES" in the manner hereinbefore provided shall be counted in favor of the adoption of the question or proposition. A dot ( ) placed in the voting square after the word "NO" in the man- ner hereinbefore provided shall be counted against the adoption of the question or proposition. SECTION 2. That the ballots to be used at said election shall be, both as to form and matter contained therein, such as may be required by law to be used thereat. SECTION 3. That notice of the time and place of holding said election is hereby given and the City Clerk is hereby authorized, instructed and directed to give such further or additional notice of said election in time, form and manner as required by law. SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original Resolutions of said City, and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted. SECTION 5. That this resolution shall take effect immediately. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 23rd day of September, 1975.
