HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 11,672RESOLUTION NO. 11,672 RESOLUTION URGING THE PURCHASE OF LAND SOUTH OF BRADLEY'S STABLES INCLUDING RICE CANYON AND DR. BLOOM'S 2100 ACRES AS AN EXTENSION OF THE SWEET - WATER REGIONAL PARK WHEREAS, the City Council supports a proposal urging the County of San Diego to purchase land south of Bradley's Stables in the Sweetwater Valley, including Rice Canyon along with Dr. Bloom's 2100 acres east of Freeway 805, as an extension of the proposed Sweetwater Regional Park, and WHEREAS, this park could include all types of recreational facilities including golf, tennis, baseball fields, girls' softball fields, tiny tot lots, senior citizen complex, zoo, bicycle trails, equestrian trails, large trees and picnic areas, and WHEREAS, much of the canyon area could be left in its natural state for this generation to enjoy as well as many generations to come, and WHEREAS, the City Council proposes to assist financially with this park development to the extent financially feasible; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of National City hereby urges the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Diego to purchase said land to satisfy all future park needs for the South Bay.
