HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 11,720RESOLUTION NO. 11,720 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA, RELATING TO THE MAINTENANCE OF OFFICIAL COPIES OF PLANS OF BUILDINGS FOR WHICH BUILDING PERMITS ARE ISSUED AND ESTABLISHING FEES FOR MICROFILMING OF BUILDING PLANS AND RELATED DOCUMENTS WHEREAS, effective March 4, 1972 the State of California added Chapter 10 (commencing with Section 19850) to Part 3, Division 12 of the Health and Safety Code; and, WHEREAS, Section 19850 of the Health and Safety Code provides that the building department of every city or county shall maintain an official copy, which may be on microfilm or other type of photographic copy, of the plans of every building during the life of such building, for which such department issued a permit; and WHEREAS, Section 19852 of the Health and Safety Code provides that the governing body of a city or county may pre- scribe such fees as will pay the added expense incurred by the building department of such city or county in maintaining the official copy of the plans of buildings for which it has issued a building permit; NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: 1. The Department of Building and Housing is charged with the responsibility of complying with the provisions of Health and Safety Code, Chapter 10, Part 3, Division 13; and, 2. The term "Plans" as used herein shall include all documents specified in Chapter 3 of the Uniform Building Code for the issuance of a building permit in Group A through H occupancies; and 3. Effective January 1, 1975 a Recording Fee shall be paid to the City Finance Officer to compensate for expenses incurred by the Department of Building and Housing in main- taining a permanent microfilm file of the official copy of plans of buildings for which it has issued a building permit. Such Recording Fee shall be paid by the applicant for a building permit at the time the permit is issued, as follows: Size of Sheet Recording Fee 8 1/2" X 11" or smaller $ .12 per sheet larger than 8 1/2" X 11" $ .40 per sheet Any document which contains information on two sides shall be considered as two sheets. 4. Reproduced copies of official plans may be obtained from the Department of Building and Housing pro- viding, however, that written permission has been obtained from the certified, licensed, or professional or his successor, if any, who signed the original documents, and the written permission of the owner of such building, or by order of a proper court, and further provided that the following repro- duction charges are paid to the City Finance Officer: 1. for each 18" X 24" print $2.00 2. for each 12" X 18" print $1.00 PASSED AND ADOPTED this llth day of March, 1975.
