HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 11,566RESOLUTION NO. 11,566 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA, CALLING, PROVIDING FOR AND GIVING NOTICE OF A SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON NOVEMBER 5, 1974, FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS:.. OF. SAID CITY A MEASURE RELATING TO REZONING THE WEST SIDE OF NATIONAL CITY FROM INDUSTRIAL ZONING TO RESIDENTIAL ZONING. WHEREAS, a special election shall be held on the 5th day of November, 1974, in the City of National City; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of National City also desires to submit to the qualified electors of said City at said election the question, proposition or measure relating to the rezoning of the west side of National City from industrial zoning to residential zoning hereinafter set forth; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETER- MINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That said City Council, pursuant to its right and authority so to do, does hereby determine that there shall he and there is hereby ordered submitted to the qualified electors of said City at said special municipal election the following question, to wit: Shall the City Council rezone the west . side of National City, as described, from industrial zoning to residential YES R-1 zoning? The west side is that part : of National City lying between Roosevelt: Avenue and Interstate 5 on the East and West and between Plaza Boulevard on the : North and 22nd Street on the South, ex- : cepting therefrom the redevelopment area: established by a vote of the people of NO National City and also, city owned properties. A dot (+) placed in the voting square after the word "YES" in the manner hereinbefore provided shall be counted in favor of the adoption of the question or proposition. A dot (40) placed in the voting square after the word "NO" in the manner hereinbefore provided shall be counted against the adoption of the question or proposition. SECTION 2. That the ballots to be used at said election shall be, both as to form and matter contained therein, such as may be required by law to be used thereat. SECTION 3. That notice of the time and place of holding said election is hereby given and the City Clerk is hereby authorized, instructed and directed to give such further or additional notice of said election in time, form and manner as required by law. SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original Resolutions of said City, and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted. SECTION 5. That this resolution shall take effect immediately. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this l3th day of August, 1974.
