RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY URGING
SUPPORT FOR PROPOSITION 13 IN THE NOVEMBER
GENERAL ELECTION
WHEREAS, Proposition 13 - San Diego County
Judicial Districts would amend Article VII of the State
Constitution to permit any city in San Diego County to
be divided into more than one Municipal Court or Justice
Court District if the Legislature determines unusual
geographic conditions warrant such division, and
WHEREAS, the passage of this constitutional
amendment will enable the State Legislature and San Diego
County Board of Supervisors to create a Municipal Court
District encompassing the entire South Bay area of San
Diego County, and
WHEREAS, unique geographic conditions exist in
the South Bay area of San Diego County which would result
in the exclusion of a considerable segment of the popula-
tion of the South Bay area from the creation of a new
Municipal Court District in the South Bay area. The ex-
clusion of these people from a newly created South Bay
Court District would cause them considerable inconvenience
and hardships, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of National
City has gone on record supporting legislative efforts at
the County and State level that would result in full service
court facilities for the entire South Bay area, and
WHEREAS, City Council of the City of National
City finds that the passage of Proposition 13 would lead
toward the goal of full service court facilities for the
South Bay area.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of National City expresses support for the passage
of Proposition 13 - San Diego County Judicial Districts and
urges the electors of the City of National City to give their
support for Proposition 13.
