RESOLUTION APPROVING AGREEMENTS. BETWEEN
THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY AND EMPLOYEE GROUPS
BE IT RESOLVED that that certain agreement by
and between the City of National City and the Fire and
Municipal Employees Association entitled "Memorandum of
Understanding" dated June 18, 1973, attached hereto as
Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein as though set forth
in full, containing the terms and conditions of employ-
ment for the affected employees is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that that certain agree-
ment by and between the City of National City and the
National City Police Officers Association entitled "Memo-
randum of Understanding" dated June 19, 1973, attached
hereto as Exhibit "B" and incorporated herein as though
set forth in full, containing the terms and conditions of
employment for the affected employees is hereby approved.

CITY OF NATIONAL CITY
MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
June 18, 1973
It is agreed by and between the City Manager of the City of
National City and the two employee organizations, (1) the National City
Municipal Employees Association and (2) the National City Firemen's
Association, that the following changes and improvements in compensation
and fringe benefits for the member employees of the above two mentioned
employee organizations are mutually agreed upon for submission to the
City Council of National City for the 1973-74 fiscal year as follows:
1. A 5% "cost of living" salary increase, effective July 1, 1973,
for all classified personnel represented by the National
City Municipal Employees Association and the National City
Firemen's Association;
2. The inclusion of the 1959 Survivor's Benefit Provision as
an amendment to the City's current contract with the
Public Employees' Retirement System, for all classified
and unclassified personnel represented by the National
City Municipal Employees Association and the National City
Firemen's Association, at the option of the individual
employees;
3. The inclusion of the One -Half Continuance Benefit as an
amendment to the City's current contract with the Public
Employees' Retirement System for all classified and unclass-
ified personnel represented by the National City Municipal
Employees Association.
4. The City Manager and the National City Firemen's Association
will (meet and confer no later than February 1, 1974, to
further negotiate on granting the 2°, at age 50 retirement
benefit for Fire Department personnel, to be effective on
July 1, 1974.

CITY OF NATIONAL CITY
MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
June 19, 1973
It is agreed .by and between the City Manager of the City of
National City and the National City Police Officers Association
that the following changes and improvements in compensation and
fringe benefits for the member employees of the above mentioned
employee organization are mutually agreed upon for submission to
the City Council of National City for the 1973-74.fiscal year as
follows:
1. A 5% "cost of living" salary increase, effective July 1,
1973, for all classified personnel represented by the
National City Police'Officers Association;
2. An additional 5% "competitive" salary increase, effective
July 1, 1973, for all positions'in the classification of
Police Dispatcher -Matron;
3. The inclusion of the One -Hal` Continuance Benefit as an
. amendment to the City's current contract with the Public
Employees' Retirement System for all classified personnel
represented by the National City Police officers Association;
4. The City agrees to make a determined effort to provide the
2% at age 50 retirement benefit to, be effective on July 1,
1974. The City Manager and the National City Police Officers
Association will meet and confer no later than February 1,
1974', and that the 2% at age 50.retirement plan will have
high priority in the budget planning for the 1974-75 fiscal
year.
