RESOLUTION HONORING EDWARD G. STUBBS
WHEREAS, EDWARD GREELEY. STUBBS, will retire
October 1, 1972,. and
WHEREAS, EDWARD G. STUBBS. has served continuously
for 45 years as a representative of the Atchison, Topeka and
the Santa Fe Railroad Company, except for a term as Major in
the Air Force during World War II, and
WHEREAS, during his service with the railroad, he
served in Washington, D.C.., Los Angeles, Long Beach and San
Diego for the past 15 years, and
WHEREAS, during this time, he was active in civic
affairs such as Past Director of the San Diego Chamber of
Commerce, Past President of the Propeller Club of the. San
Diego Unified Port District, and Member of the Industrial
Committee of the National City Chamber of Commerce, and
WHEREAS, in .the lattercapacity, he assisted in
thedevelopment of the industrial area in National City by
helping to locate a lumber company, Permaneer, ITT Cable
Division, and worked along with the City on the Sweetwater
Flood Control;
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of National City commends and congratulates Edward G. Stubbs
on his retirement from service after 45 consecutive years with
the Atchison, Topeka and the Santa Fe and for his services
to the people of National City.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 19th day of September, 1972.
