HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 10,691RESOLUTION NO. 10,691 RESOLUTION GRANTING ZONE VARIANCE PURSUANT TO. ORDINANCE NO. 962 (Z-1-72, 1600 and 1700 blocks of Gamma St.., Melchor C. Solon) The City Council of the City of National City does hereby find, determine, order and resolve as follows.: 1. That practical difficulties, unnecessary hard- ship, and a result inconsistent with the general purpose and intent of Ordinance No. 962 would occur through strict appli- cation of the provisions of said Ordinance tothat certain real property hereinafter described. 2. That a Petition requesting a blanket variance has been filed pursuant tothe provisions of Section 12 of Ordinance No. 962 and said Petition complies with all the requirements of said section. 3. That the National City Planning Commission did hold a hearing on said Petition and did recommend to. the City Council that a variance be granted. 4. That the granting of a variance with reference to the property hereinafter described will not defeat, but rather will carry out the general intent and purpose of the National City Zoning Ordinance, will provide for the public safety and welfare and will administer. substantial justice. 5. That a. variance from the provisions of said Ordinance No. 9621e and hereby is granted with reference to all thecertain real property situated in the City of National City, California, more particularly described as follows: Lots. 222 through 231, inclusive, and the Easterly 52_feet of Lots 232end .233; and Lots. 237 through 247, inclusive, National Vista No. 2, according to Map thereof No. 2759. 6. That the variance hereby granted is as follows: Authorize off-street parking within the front yard setback, subject to the following conditions: A. Each request to utilize the front yard setback for off-street parking shall be subject to Planning Department review. B. Where the parking site is located parallel to the street, a minimum four (4) foot wide landscape strip shall be maintained between the parking site and front property line. (a) A screen fence no more than four (4) feet in height shall be erected on the side lot line to shield lights from shining onto adjacent dwellings. C. There shall not be more than one-(1) off-street parking sitelocated within the front yard setback. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of June,. 1972. ATTEST:
