HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 10,729RESOLUTION NO. 10,729 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY URGING ADOPTION OF ASSEMBLY BILL 702 WHEREAS, Assemblmen Warren and Hayden introduced Assembly Bill 702 into the Legislature on March 6, 1972, which thereafter referred said bill to the Assembly Committee on Judiciary, and WHEREAS, the proposed legislation authorizes the appointment of a Traffic Trial Commissioners and supporting staff to conduct pilot projects with respect to the disposition of traffic offenses under applicable State Law, and WHEREAS, Federal funds have been made available to the California Judicial Council to fund such programs, and WHEREAS, Orange County has five Municipal Courts which will, in 1972, process over 350,000 moving tr&ffic citations, and WHEREAS, such courts are staffed with forward look- ing and hard working judges who have instituted many positive changes in the Court process and will continue to do so. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of National City urges the California Legislature to adopt Assembly Bill 702. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Legislature designate an Orange County Municipal Court as a participant court. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the legislators of San Diego County forward a copy of this resolution urging passage of Assembly Bill 702 by the California State Legislature. PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED this 18th day of July, 1972. ATTEST:
