A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE HISTORIC SIGNIFICANCE
OF "BRICKROW" AND DIRECTING THE STAFF TO SEEK
NATIONAL RECOGNITION OF THE SITE
WHEREAS, the City has recognized the importance
of several historical sites within the community as evidenced
by its identification of these sites in the GEneral Plan of
1985, and
WHEREAS, the City is interested in preserving its
historical sites, and
WHEREAS, the City Council at its regular emeting
of August 22, 1972, adopted a motion after public hearings
indicating its desire to seek national recognition of the
building located at 906-940 "A" Avenue, sometimes known as
"Brickrow", and
WHEREAS, the Council considers "Brickrow" of his-
torical significance worth preserving, and
WHEREAS, the Council wishes to place the site known
as "Brickrow" on the National Register;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of National City that:
1. "Brickrow" is of historical significance worth
preserving, and
2. The staff is directed to seek placement of
"Brickrow" on the National Register of Historical Sites.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 5th day of September, 1972.
