" 10,532 RESOLUTION DESIGNATING HISTORICAL SITE WHEREAS, the Granger Music Hall has occupied a prominent place in National City history since its construct- ion in 1898, and WHEREAS, the Granger Music Hall was the site of concerts by various artists of the early twentieth century such as Rudolph Friml, and WHEREAS, the Granger Music Hall has been identified with the cultural heritage of the City of National City and the entire South Bay area, and WHEREAS, the Granger Music Hall is a structure of unique architectural qualities, and WHEREAS, the South Bay Historical Society has acquired title to the Granger Music Hall for the purpose of restoring and preserving it as a major historical site in the South Bay, and WHEREAS, the City Council of National City desires to officially endorse the restoration and preservation of the Granger Mus ic sic Hall, and WHEREAS, the official General Plan of the City of National City designates the Granger Music Hall as a site of historical interest; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of National City that the Granger Music Hall be designated as a historic site and a historic building. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council calls upon the State of a ' C lifornia to enroll the Granger Music Hall in the State Historical Plan. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council calls upon the Secretary of the Interior of the United States of America to enroll the Granger Music Hdall on the National Register of sites and buildings significant in American history as author- ized by the Historic Preservation Act of 1966 (PL 89-665).
