A RESOLUTION .SUPPORTING AN AMENDMENT TO
THE ELECTIONS CODE TO: ENABLE THE :SAVING
OF UNNECESSARY ELECTION EXPENSE BY ELIM-
INATING THE REQUIREMENT.FOR UNNECESSARY
PRECINCT :OFFICE:RS.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of National City,
California as follows:
1. Chapter 7 of Division 9 of the Elections Code
authorzeds the counting of ballots by electronic or
electro-
mechanical devices, and the utilization of such devices

will result in the 'saving of many thousands of dollars of tax-
payers' funds at every municipal election without in any way
imparing the 'efficiency, accuracy or security of election returns.
BE .IT :FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of National City hereby

BE IT :FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk of the
City of National City is hereby directed to forward copies
of this Resolution to. the League of California Cities, to
the City Councils of cities in the County of San Diego, and
to. the State Senators and Assemblymen representing the area
within the City. of Nationl City in the California Legislature.
