RE.SOLUT.ION GRANTING A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT
(Wright Meat Packing Co.)
The City Council of the City of National City does
hereby find, determine, order and resolve as follows:
1. At a regular meeting of the City Planning Com-
mission on June 14, 1971, said Commission unanimously adopted
a recommendation that the real property located at 2510 Cleveland
Avenue, be granted a Conditional Use Permit upon the conditions
hereinafter stated.
2. That the City Council has received the recom-
mendation of the Planning Commission, and after full and com-
plete consideration of said recommendation hereby grants. a
Conditional Use Permit to allow the expansion of an existing
non -conforming meat packing business at 2510 Cleveland Avenue

to the following terms and conditions:
a. • Compliance with City Ordinances:• That the •
Wright Meat Packing Co.. comply with the:provisions
of all applicable City codes and ordinances including, but not
limited to, Ordinance No. 1173 as amended by Ordinance No. 1186,
establishing the criteria for development in the Commercial,
Manufacturing, and Industrial Zones, and Ordinance No. 1256,
providing for the installation of street improvements.
b. Storage: All operations and storage, in-
cluding all equipment used in conducting said use, other than
parking, shall be conducted within an enclosed building or
within an area enclosed by a solid wall or fence. Walls and
fences to be constructed and maintained as specified in City
Ordinance No. 1173.
c. Painting: Any structures, including fences
and walls, but excluding masonry and approved permanent finish
panels, which are used as part of the yard boundaries and/or
are exposed to view from a street frontage, shall be painted a
uniform neutral color, excluding black, which blends with the
surrounding terrain and improvements, and shall be maintained
in a neat, orderly condition at .all times.
d. Required Parking:. Off-street parking shall
be providedin a ratio of one space for each 800.square feet
of gross floor area or fraction thereof, or one space for
each two employees on the maximum working shift, whichever
is greater. (Number of spaces required to be calculated
based on the size of the addtion as specified in Sec. II-D-6
of Ordinance No. 1173.)
Driveways and parking area location, construct-
ion and design shall conform to the requirements of City
Ordinance No. 1173.
e. Paving: of Yards: All areas of the yard open
to vehicular passage shall be surfaced with asphaltic concrete
at least two inches in depth, or its equivalent.
f. Signs: Shall be limited to a single identi-
fication sign not more than 100 square feet in area and to.
directional signs for traffic control.
g. Landscaping: Provided and maintained as
specified in Ordinance No. 1173.
h. Litter: The entire side shall be continuously
maintained to prevent accumulation of weeds rubbish, litter or
combustible waste. Any incidents of rat or vermin harborage
shall be promptly corrected.
i. Waste Disposal: All liquid wastes be properly
and promptly disposed of in a manner acceptable to the City and
to. the San Diego Metropolitan Sewer District. No outdoor storage
of hides or solid wastes to be permitted. All hides and solid
wastes to be disposed of daily.
j. Loading/Off--loading: Loading and unloading
space be provided and maintained as specified in Ordinance No.
1173.
k. Holding Pens: Holding pens shall be subject
to good "housekeeping" procedures and shall be cleaned and
sanitized regularly, and maintained free of obnoxious odors.
No cattle shall be kept in the holding pens over the week -end
when the plant is not in operation.
3. The Conditional Use Permit granted by this
Resolution shall become -effective on the date that Ordinance
known as Ordinance No. 127.3 becomes effective under thelaws
of the State of California applicable thereof.
