RESOLUTION APPROVING PROPOSED FEDERAL AID URBAN SYSTEM AND
RECOMMENDING SUBMISSION TO FEDERAL HIGHWAY ADMINISTRATION
BY CALIFORNIA DIVISION OF HIGHWAYS
WHEREAS, the Federal Highway Act of 1970 directed
the establishment of a Federal -aid urban system for the San
Diego metropolitan area, and
WHEREAS, the Federal legislation provided that
routes on the urban system shall be 'selected by appropriate
local officials and the State Highway Department in coopera-
tion with each other, and
WHEREAS, the San Diego Comprehensive Planning
Organization (CPO) and the local agencies of metropolitan
San Diego in cooperation with the Division of Highways have
selected a proposed Federal Aid Urban system within the 1970
Bureau of Census urbanized limits conforming to the Instruct-
ions of the Federal Highway Administration, and
WHEREAS, the proposed routes of Federal Aid Urban
Systems for the San Diego Metropolitan area conforms to the
Federal Functional Classification System of the Region;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of National City approves the proposed Federal Aid
Urban system selected for the National City portion of the San
Diego Metropolitan area and subsequential changes in the other
Federal Aid Systems and recommends them for submission to the
Federal Highway Administration by the California Division of
Highways.
