UNIFORM BUILDING REGULATIONS IN SAN DIEGO COUNTY
WHEREAS, it is recognized that the bulk of the popu-
lation of San Diego County is a part of one large metropolitan
area with city limit boundaries being contiguous to each other
in many instances; and
WHEREAS, it is recognized that construction costs of
buildings within our metropolitan area can be adversely affected
by a difference in building regulation requirements between juris-
dictions; and
WHEREAS, the cost of providing inspection department
services increases when these differences in building regula-
tion requirements exist between the various jurisdictions of
San Diego County; and
WHEREAS, it is recognized that differences in build-
ing regulations between the various jurisdictions in our County
can be a source of confusion and inconvenience to designers,
developers, builders, material suppliers, and others who use
these regulations; and
WHEREAS, the San Diego Chapter of the International
Conference of Building Officials has by its letter dated April
6, 1970, presented a proposal to assure that these differences
in building regulation requirements within San Diego County be
reviewed and reduced to an absolute minimum;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of National City does concur with the objectives
and approves the proposed procedure outlined in the letter of
April 6, 1970, from the San Diego Chapter of the International

to said Chapter for their information and determination as to
whether they should be recommended for adoption by all other
jurisdictions within San Diego County.
